Franklin Method® Equestrian helps innovative trainers level up their coaching skills, stand out and sell out their clinics, so that they can lead a successful career, through our trainer certifications.

During this online training you’ll learn Franklin Method® imagery and embodiments of the pelvis as they apply to riding.

“What I love when delivering a session is how clients get instant feedback on how to notice a change in their body which also affects their horse….that is truly lovely to see!”
– Carol Green, Franklin Method® Equestrian Pelvis Trainer

Over 10 days you’ll experience our unique core principles, including anatomical education, embodied function, and Dynamic-Neurocognitive Imagery® (DNI), as they directly apply to equestrians.

Although you’ll learn a lot of theory, this is not simply a lecture series or “movement training.” You’ll be experiencing Franklin Method® for riding in an interactive format and truly integrating solutions for your unique challenges.

Students will graduate from the training with an entirely new perspective on the rider biomechanics and movement. Not to mention, you’ll have learned and embodied practical tools you’ll immediately be able to take out onto the horse.

You’ll learn how to utilize Franklin Method® mind-body exercises and imagery both in and out of the saddle. From your warm-up to your riding lessons, having Franklin Method® tools in your toolbox will revolutionize your coaching and you’ll quickly see the tangible results in your riders that you’ve been looking for.

You’ll discover exactly how to use Franklin Balls and Franklin Bands along with the scientifically proven Franklin Method® principles to multiply their benefits.

Find out why our students say that this cutting edge and innovative course is the best investment they’ve ever made in their development as a trainer.

“I have taken a lot of distance learning courses and this was truly one of the best. Very pedagogic and all the exercises meant that I did not get tired during the four hours. For me, this is much better than going on a course live. Having the opportunity to re-watch the webinar several times is fantastic.”

“This course will fundamentally change the way you ride and the way you coach others. The knowledge and the experience of feeling the change in your own body as you apply what you have learned will set you apart from other trainers in the market. It is worth the investment in both time and money.”

I almost didn’t go on the course due to a wrist injury. It had been very painful for almost 6 months and was restricting pretty much everything I did. My physio was struggling to find ways to improve it and was concerned it may lead to tendinitis. I contacted Alysen as although I wanted to do the course, I also felt that my wrist would be an issue and hold me back on the practical side. She assured me it wouldn’t be a problem and it might actually help. After the first week of training which included fascia work, imagery and ball tapping I was impressed that I barely gave my wrist a thought. By the time I did the second module which was 6 weeks later and using the bands, Balls and imagery at home, I was pain free. It’s given me no trouble since. I was talking to my physio recently and he asked about my wrist, he was very interested to hear how I’d turned it around thanks to the Franklin Method.

What is Franklin Method®?

Franklin Method® is a scientifically-proven mind-body method that blends anatomical education, embodied function, and Dynamic Neuro-cognitive Imagery™ (DNI). It’s the fastest and most effective proven approach to permanently retraining your body and mind for optimal function. Backed up by scientific studies, Franklin Method® is the results-based gateway to learning how to move your body in alignment with your anatomy and function, no matter what type of exercise you’re doing. You can retrain your body to unlearn tightness and optimize movement so you naturally improve your strength and flexibility while avoiding pain, soreness, and injury. What sets Franklin Method® apart is that it’s centered on the individual. It’s not a static system with strict rules. Your educator gives you a toolbox of anatomical, biomechanical, and physiological images and embodied movements, and then you expand upon it based on what resonates with your body.

How does Franklin Method® benefit equestrians?

Franklin Method® provides equestrians with tools to move their bodies more efficiently and connect with their horses on a deeper level. It will help optimize your movements and mental focus so you can guide your horse with more ease and efficacy. Franklin Method® helps your body absorb the impact of riding and recover more quickly so you can optimize your performance and are less likely to get injured. You’ll learn how to incorporate mental imagery so you’re more focused, confident, and calm in the saddle.

Who should learn Franklin Method®?

Anyone who wants to improve their riding performance, correct imbalances in themselves and their horses, and/or recover from an injury or chronic pain. Instead of leaving their recovery up to an expert who they might see once a week, they can guide themselves to recovery by learning and embodying their own design. Of course, always check in with your doctor in conjunction with Franklin Method®.

Franklin Method® will benefit equestrians who want to move more seamlessly with their horses. By embodying your own functional movement, your horse will quickly learn what it means to move efficiently.

How will Franklin Method® impact my teaching skills?

Learning the Franklin Method® will help you understand your anatomical function on a scientific yet intuitive level. You’ll learn how certain cues and movements could actually be going against the function of your body, and the movement of your horse. These improper cues, while well-meaning, can contribute to harmful movement patterns for both you and your horse. Learning the Franklin Method® will give you a strong foundation based on long-standing and new cutting-edge science. It will improve your cues and give you more confidence, because you’ll know your instructions are congruent with correct anatomical function.

What can I expect from the Franklin Method® Equestrian Pelvis Certification?

You’ll learn how to properly use Franklin Method® theory, Franklin balls, and Franklin bands to improve both your own riding skills and the skills of your students.

We’ll be focusing on the pelvis – the main point of contact and communication for a rider. You’ll learn Franklin Method® imagery and embodiments of the pelvis as they apply to riding, as well as dismounted training and conditioning.

What is Dynamic-Neurocognitive Imagery® (DNI)?

Founded by Eric Franklin, Dynamic-Neurocognitive Imagery® (DNI) is a science-based approach to positive anatomical imagery and tangible physical metamorphosis. It has a noticeable impact on how you feel and how you move. For example, if we were working with the pelvis, you might imagine your pelvic halves to be counter-rotating like wheels, as the halves move in opposition. New scientific studies on the effectivness of DNI are consistently being published. We are currently working on a study that specifically looks at DNI with equestrians.

How long has Franklin Method® been around?

Eric Franklin created the Franklin Method® over 25 years ago.

Where was it first taught? How did Eric Franklin create this method?

Eric first taught in Switzerland, Germany and Austria, and then in the USA, China, Japan and many other countries. Franklin Method® came to Eric through his background as a dancer and movement educator. He realized that the creative visualizations, embodied anatomy, physical and mental exercises, and educational skills that came to him so easily could be very valuable for other dancers, athletes, and movers of all types.

What’s the structure of the Franklin Method® Equestrian Pelvis Training?

This is a 10-day training held over 5 separate 2 day modules. We’ll start each day with a Franklin Method® mind-body warm up where you’ll learn and practice the core principles that make up the Franklin Method®.

Over our 10 days together we’ll cover Franklin Method® theory and anatomical education, as well as embodiment and imagery for the pelvis including joints, muscles and fascia.

Then, we’ll be applying the embodiments, imagery we just learned directly to riding. The riding portion will be pre-recorded and available to view and review within the online educator portal.

Each day will finish with dismounted training exercises using Franklin Balls and Franklin Bands.

There will be practice teaching assignments with homework and a case study report in between the modules. At the end of the certification training you’ll be asked to give 10-minute Franklin Method presentation on a specific topic (for example on the hip joint). You’ll also be asked to teach a 10 minute mounted Franklin Method Equestrian lesson with imagery, Franklin Balls and Franklin Bands based on your presentation topic. Both presentations can be recorded, or given live via Zoom to either Alysen or Tom.

What does the training fee cover?

10 days of training. Supportive online video content including the Pelvic Power online workshop and the online educator area with several hours of video content to view on demand. You’ll also receive a copy of the Franklin Method® Equestrian Pelvis Trainer Manual, and access to the Franklin Method® Equestrian Pelvis Training Facebook group where you can connect with fellow trainees and ask the faculty questions.
